Beyond the aesthetics of Elizabeth Grant

We are now living the internet era. All things you can imagine can be found within the worldwide web, and talent is among them. Elizabeth Grant AKA Lana Del Rey got the media attention thanks to her Youtube channel. Born in 1985, this New Yorker has been known from the start due to the aesthetics on her music videos, her enchanting voice and her magnetic stage presence.

Before all of the success that came with the Video Games musical video; Elizabeth worked as a waitress and was involved in community projects aiding alcoholics, drug addicts and worked at the restoration of the Indian Reservation while she was in college. She majored in philosophy at the Fordham University due to her interest between the gap that brings God and science together.

Music was always a drive for Grant and it surrounded her from a very young age. Elizabeth sang at her church choir when she was a child. Her mother was a singer and her father wrote country songs, but it was her uncle the one that taught her how to play the guitar. She began combining her love for poetry and her passion for music while playing at local bars in Brooklyn.

For years she struggled with a drinking problem and music was a way she used to overcome it, she has been sober since 2004. In 2005 she started recording on her own. It was not until 2012 that she got signed by a record label after her song Video Games went viral. She was everywhere and the fashion industry noticed it as well.

Elizabeth Grant has worked with H&M and Jaguar as a model. Her passion for movies is always present on her videos; she released a short film for her Paradise album and has been part of Original Soundtracks for: The Great Gatsby, Big Eyes, The Age of Adaline and more. Grant has been awarded several times. In 2015 she was honored at the Billboard Women in Music event with the Trailblazer Award.
