Kash Gaines is a host, dancer, and founder of YAK Films. He is from California, and he has dedicated his career to filming street dancers around the world. That is the main reason why he founded his filming company.
YAK Films is a media team that covers road move occasions around the world, established in East Oakland, California in 2008. The first team met at the Youth UpRising Community Center, where they started working with a neighborhood road move group called the Turf Feinz.
It began when one of their recordings recognizing the passing of an artist’s sibling turned into a sensation on the web. They then went searching for other road move styles and occasions where artists would fight one another for cash, regard and greatness. YAK is devoted to uniting quality nearby visuals, cutting-edge music craftsmen and the best road move ability to serve a developing worldwide crowd; YAK is fully dedicated to bringing excellence in local visuals to a global audience.
Kash started making videos of himself and some other dancers around Oakland with his friend and business partner, just to make their work known by other people. Moreover, some other artists wanted to join to their projects. He decided to spread their performances. Then, he realized it was not fair not having access to the media to widen the work they were doing and he created YAK Films to show people around the world about it. They started travelling around the world seeking for great dancers.
His motivation is to show the artist as authentic as it can be, with the right music, the right environment and the best production, as well. Understanding that dancing is a language, he seeks to respecting every artist’s style on his productions. From all over the world he wants to show every artist’s essence and pure identity.
