Considered to be one of the most important and renowned Colombian Chefs. He co-owns Criterión a restaurant located in the G area of Bogota, is one of the best ones in the country (and Latin America), known for its quality and innovation in the food; it has been featured at LatincAmerica 50 best restaurants.
Jorge began his career as a chef at the age of 26 when he discovered that economics was not his thing, it was not what he wanted to do for the rest of his life. That is why he decided to travel to England and start a tough road in the kitchen at an age, which for him is not the ideal to start a career as a chef.
During his experience in Europe, Jorge Rausch managed to complete his studies in the well known Le Manoir Aux Quat’Saisons (Raymond Blanc) and worked in Michelin-starred restaurants like Orrery and The Square. After his long experience and learning in the kitchen, in 2004, he decided to return to Bogota to open his own restaurant Criterión, with his brother Mark.
Following the rapid success of this place, specializing in modern French cuisine, Jorge manages to gain popularity and gets several awards in the gastronomic industry as the awards for Best Restaurant and Best Chef in 2009 and 2010. He was also recognized with the Five Star Diamond Award, a prestigious international symbol awarded only to the best.
In addition to the Criterión restaurant, this tough and perfectionist MasterChef Colombia judge owns other restaurants: Rausch Energía Gastronómica, Bistronomy, El Gobernador by Rausch, Marea by Rausch, and Kitchen by Rausch in San Jose, Costa Rica and Barranquilla.
In addition to being the bearer of the lionfish Cause, he has written four very recognized cookbooks: Criterión, Cocina para fin de semana, Sal y Dulce and Pez León. Sufice to say, MasterChef is not Jorge’s first cooking TV show, he has participated three times in these formats; along with his brother.
