Wladimir Klitschko; brains, muscles and victories are just the tip of his iceberg

One of the most famous boxing couples on the entire world are Wladimir and his brother Vitali. The Klitschko brothers have been dominating the over-200 pound division since their debut in 1996, becoming the first brothers to earn the world’s heavyweight boxing titles simultaneously with the records of 108-5 with 94 KO’s.

Klitschko was invested and interested in sports from a very young age, it was no surprise that he won her first medal at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games, the accomplishments kept coming. Despite his success at the squared circle, Wladimir has expanded his empire as an athlete manager, artist plus getting involved with hotels, internet start-ups and film distribution.

The Kazakhstan native Wladimir holds not only the titles of IBO, IBF, WBA, and WBO. He got a Sports Science Ph.D. degree at the Kiev University. Wladimir stated that winning the title of world champion against Herbie Hide means as much to him as his doctor’s degree.

In 2007 an asteroid was discovered by the Andrushivka Astronomical Observatory (Ukraine), it was named Asteroid 212723 Klitschko as a tribute to the brothers for their contribution with various charitable groups and organizations such as the European Council and UNESCO’s Program for the Schooling of Youngsters in Need.

The Klitschko Foundation, was created by the brothers to shape Ukrainian adolescence’s lives, in order to counsel the government on the increase of sport and education in Ukraine for the intellectual, physical and spiritual development new generations. In 2012, Wladimir auctioned off his Olympic gold medal for $1 million dollars, the earnings went to Ukrainian children.

A documentary was released based on the lives of the two brothers in 2011, fun fact their mother made them promise they would never fight each other and Wladimir stated that he would not do it, not even for a billion dollars. Besides their native Ukrainian, the Klitschko brothers speak German, Russian and English.
