Nicolás de Zubiría, cuisine in his veins.

His career as a chef started when he decided to study in Vancouver, Canada, a city that helped him a lot, he was able to explore flavors and try new dishes from different cultures since this place has people from all around the world with different eating habits.

In 2004, after completing his studies, he decided to settle down in Bogotá, Colombia and started his involvement as a chef in various restaurants in the capital. Years later and he is now one of the leaders of the Colombian cuisine for his rich flavored dishes, their textures and innovative with the sole purpose of making you feel a unique experience.

For the new MasterChef Colombian jury there is nothing worse than to serve a dish where the food is bland and there is no interest in respecting the ingredients and products. Nicolás also believes that the worst challenge as a chef is working in a hurry. Curiously, Nicolás worked for a time with Jorge Rausch, another one of the MasterChef Colombia’s judges; they have a lot of empathy and chemistry, both in the kitchen and program recordings.

Nicolás is looking for passion, perseverance and creativity when preparing the food in the contestants of MasterChef Colombia. But above all, the will to learn, to prepare their dishes as perfect as possible.
